Venus
(Earth / Air)

Venus (Greek:  Aphrodite; Babylonian:  Ishtar) is the goddess of love and beauty.  With few exceptions the surface features on Venus are named for female figures.  Venus has been known since prehistoric times.  It is the brightest object in the sky, except for the Sun and the Moon, and has been referred to as the ‘Jewel of the Sky’; the planet was so named because it is the brightest of the planets known to the ancients.  It was popularly thought to be two separate bodies, Eosphorus as the morning star and Hesperus as the evening star, but the Greek astronomers knew better.

Both Libra and Taurus, Libra the great mediator of the zodiac and Taurus the stubborn bull, are under the influences of the planet Venus and it motivates their search for inner beauty.

This painting bears the likeness of my daughter, a Libra.

Your colors are all shades of blue; your metal the beautiful copper from our earth.

Venus takes 224.7 days to complete the cycle of the zodiac.

Taurus (Earth)
Fixed – Second sign of the Zodiac

Libra (Air)
Cardinal – Seventh sign of the Zodiac

THE ODYSSEY COLLECTION™ was conceived by Sam Lax, and the original drawings based on Sam's concepts were created by Karin Swildens, internationally-acclaimed artist and sculptress.  These designs became the jewelry collection known as the Odyssey Collection™.

Now Carolyn Rose has taken the entire collection and, through the magic of her imagination, has transformed these designs into a series of delightful scenes, forever captured through her brush-strokes for your visual pleasure.

These magical paintings by Carolyn Rose are available as numbered and signed copies on canvas, and in poster form on 240-lb. artist paper.  We will soon have them available on tee shirts and in puzzle form for the entire family to enjoy.
